Another Time, Another Place by Jessie Kesson

Another Time, Another Place

Jessie Kesson

In the summer of 1944 three Italian POWs are billeted in a remote village in the north east of Scotland. Elspeth, a young farmworker's wife, is given the task of looking after them – an experience which leads her to dream about a different kind of life. A lyrical read which captures both the harsh realities of farm life and the warmth and vitality brought to this bleak place by the Italian prisoners.
