Isolation Shepherd by Iain R. Thomson

Isolation Shepherd

Iain R. Thomson

August 1956, a young shepherd and his family sit huddled in a small boat on Loch Monar in Ross-shire. A storm rages around them. On route to their new home, this story details the four years they spend in a tiny remote cottage at the end of the loch. Moving and vivid, Iain Thomson’s book captures the landscape and incidents that shape the family’s life before the flooding of the valley for a hydro-electric scheme forced him to abandon both the land and his way of life.
